Faith Community Church feels very strongly that we are on a mission to love the world. Acting as the “hands and feet” for Jesus is one of our important callings. Our congregation, our children’s ministry and student ministry participate in many different community-wide and world-wide efforts to reach out, spread the teachings of Christ and love one another. These are just a few of the many ways we support each other, our community and our worldwide family of God.

  • Food – we have an ongoing food drive and distribute the food we collect through Third Phase, one of the most active food pantries in Hamilton County.
  • Clothing – we have an ongoing ministry with the Women’s Prison in Indianapolis where we provide clothing and other support to women housed in the prison.
  • Shelter – we manage an ongoing HELP fund and work with local township trustees to help meet the rent assistance and other basic needs of local families.
  • Come be a part of our international missions work with Christ Community Churches of Jamaica…serving the poorest of the poor in Jamaica and Haiti. Join us on a trip to Jamaica to serve first hand, help us collect child vitamins and peanut butter (a great source of much needed protein!) or ‘adopt’ a Jamaican child by funding their education at the school we support. We have ongoing support of our sister church in Jamaica, Faith Community Church of Jamaica.

How are you called to serve? Come join us…we’d love to work with you. We have ongoing “hands and feet” events you can participate in. We maintain an “Opportunity Board” where you can help others join in the work you are involved with…or where you can find a way for you and your family to serve others.

Come join us on a “…mission from God to love the world.”

Help your neighbor

Our grocery cart is empty and hungry for some food! Let’s make sure the many families in Hamilton County with limited means aren’t hungry. As children are home from school, there is an even greater need for can goods and boxed food items which can be used for nutritious meals for growing children. All donations are delivered to Third Phase which distributes them to the Food Pantries in Hamilton County.

Women’s Prison Ministry

Once a month the Women’s Prison (in downtown Indianapolis) holds a worship service depending on volunteers to share music, prayers and the meaning of God’s forgiveness and love. It is safe. It is deeply appreciated by women, young and old, who come desperately seeking some guidance and comfort in their troubled lives. Worshipping with women who are really, in God’s eyes, no different than us can be an eye-opening, inspiring experience. Joining in this worship service, even if you only want to stay on the sidelines as a spectator, is a way to step out of your comfort zone and into a ministry that truly makes a difference to those seeking help reaching out for God’s loving hand.

Once a month at the prison all of the women who have a birthday that month are invited to a birthday party. There are cakes, baked by volunteers, and small gifts. Volunteers are welcome. Small personal items, such a shampoo, lotion, soaps, make-up, hair accessories, notebooks, stationary/stamps are also greatly appreciated. Drop your donations in the box near the ministries bulletin board.

If you can attend a worship service or birthday party at the prison, please see Bev Neal or Pam Records. They can answer questions and arrange for you to attend. They can also reassure anyone who is concerned about safety or exactly what to expect. It’s OK to have questions and be unsure at first. But an open mind, open heart (and open Bible!) can take away reluctance. Talk to Bev. Hear how this ministry has touched her heart deeply.

Wheeler Mission

We collect clothing and coffee and take it to Wheeler Mission several times a year.
